Sponge Cake with Apple or Pear; Low-fat Cake
The perfect sponge cake with apple or pear; low-fat cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 2 Pc. Apples or pears
- 2 tbsp Lemon juice
- 5 Pc. Eggs
- 3 tbsp Cold water
- 145 g Sugar
- 2 Pc. Egg yolk
- 150 g Flour
- 50 g Food starch
- Peel and dice the apples or pears and drizzle with lemon juice. Separate the eggs and beat the egg whites with cold water until stiff. Let the sugar slowly trickle in at the end.
- Mix all egg yolks briefly and stir carefully into the egg whites. Mix the flour and cornstarch and sift in two portions over the egg whites and carefully fold in. Finally fold in the fruit.
- Put the dough in a well-greased bundt pan, dusted with flour, and bake in the preheated oven at 175 degrees (or fan oven 150 degrees) on the middle rack for about 40 minutes.
- Let the cake cool down in the mold for 15 minutes, then carefully turn it out of the mold and let it cool. Dust with icing sugar if you like.
