Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 5 m.-sized eggs
  • 375 g flour, sifted
  • 250 g sugar
  • 1 tsp, stripped ammonium bicarbonate
  • 125 g butter
  • 175 ml milk
  • Cake icing (chocolate or lemon icing)

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Original recipe from our grandmother from Thuringia

Whisk together the butter, eggs, and sugar thoroughly, then gradually add the flour and milk. Finally, stir in the baking powder; it’s very important to add it last, as it will begin to rise immediately. Pour the batter onto a greased baking sheet and bake at 180°C for about 25 minutes, until golden brown. Once the cake has cooled slightly, you can cover it with chocolate or icing. Then cut it into small diamond shapes.
