delicious variation of a popular Christmas classic

Cream the butter, sugar, and vanilla sugar until fluffy. Add the flavorings, spices, quark, and eggs and beat until smooth. If necessary, chop the candied orange and lemon peel with a large knife on a board before adding them to the dough with the remaining ingredients. Knead everything into a smooth dough. Divide the dough into six pieces and roll each out into small oval sheets on a floured surface. Cut the marzipan into six pieces and roll each out into thin sheets. Place a marzipan sheet on each sheet of dough and place five Ferrero Küsschen chocolates on top in a row (not in the middle, as a Stollen is asymmetrical). Fold one side of the dough sheet over the chocolates to form small Stollens. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C for approx. 35 minutes. Then brush the dough several times with melted butter, let it cool, dust with powdered sugar, and wrap in cling film.
