Different types of cookies require different types of storage. Basically, anything you use for storage should allow for an airtight seal.
- Store soft cookies in an airtight container. This keeps the delicious, soft chocolate chip cookies fresh for longer.
- Regular Cookies – Crunchy cookies need to be kept away from moisture. The best way to do this is to use an airtight container that isn’t completely sealed.
- Separate Cookies – If you have multiple types and varieties of cookies, it’s best to keep them in separate containers.
- Frosted Cookies – Avoid storing these sweets for long periods of time. However, you can save them before applying the frosting to keep the cookie fresh.
- Decorating Cookies – As with the frosting, it’s best to decorate the sweets just before you serve them. If you store them with decoration, they may soften or go bad over time.
- Giving away cookies – It is suitable for this if you use a transparent foil bag. You can decorate them with a ribbon and gift tags. Cling film is also suitable.
There are many little tricks that will help you preserve the flavor of your candy.
- The Right Container – Airtight containers are best for longer-term storage. Please note the tips from the first chapter.
- Location in the container – It’s easiest to use parchment paper to keep the cookies separate in the container. This allows you to stack multiple layers in a larger container.
- Allow your cookies to cool before placing them in the container. This way all the moisture is removed, keeping them crispy and fresh.
- Room Temperature Storage – If you’re storing cookies for a few days, normal room temperature is the perfect place to store them.
- Freezing Cookies – If you place them in a freezer container, you can keep the cookies there for up to 6 months. Just make sure you let them thaw again at room temperature on a clean baking sheet.
