Horseradish tastes delicious and can be processed as desired. In this home tip, we will show you how to store horseradish properly.
Store horseradish correctly – this is how it works
In the following we will tell you how best to store the horseradish after cooking:
- If you’ve already cooked the horseradish, simply wrap the leftovers in cling film and store them in the crisper of your fridge. The roots of the horseradish can be kept for around two to four weeks.
- If you have a garden, you can extend the shelf life of horseradish even further. To do this, simply bury the horseradish in moist sand. In this way, it retains its typical aroma and stays fresh for many weeks.
- A little tip: Leave the root unwashed so that the aromatic substances are not lost.
