Recipe for a quick strawberry cake

Strawberries are popular with young and old and are simply part of summer. If you have bought a lot of strawberries, use them for a strawberry cake. With our recipe, you can do it in no time.

  1. You need: 500 g strawberries, a finished sponge cake base, 1 pack of vanilla pudding, 1 pack of cake glaze
  2. In a small saucepan, mix the custard with milk as directed on the package insert.
  3. Pour the warm pudding directly onto the finished sponge cake and spread it evenly. Let the pudding dry for about 15 minutes.
  4. Wash and halve the strawberries and then spread them on the biscuit base. Lay the edge first, then work your way inward. To fill in the gaps, you can cut off smaller pieces of strawberry again.
  5. Mix the cake glaze with water as explained on the package insert. Depending on your taste, this can be either clear or red. Spread this on the cake immediately after boiling and let everything dry thoroughly.
  6. After about 20 minutes, the strawberry cake is ready to eat.

How to deal with bruises on the strawberries

Unfortunately, strawberries usually do not last long and quickly form bruises or mold.

  • Store the strawberries in the refrigerator after shopping and use them within two days.
  • If light bruises have formed on the strawberry, you can generously cut them away and still use the fruit.
  • If there are dark spots on the fruit or even mold, you should no longer eat the strawberries, but throw them away.
