Strawberry jam with basil and mixed pepper

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg strawberries
  • 500 g gelling sugar, 2:1
  • 2 handfuls of basil
  • 2 tsp pepper, mixed, freshly ground

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 3 minutes; Total time approx. 28 minutes

Wash the strawberries, remove the stems, and chop them finely. Pick and finely chop the basil leaves. Place the jam jars in hot water. In a large saucepan, combine the strawberries with the preserving sugar and heat while stirring. When the sugar begins to melt, puree the strawberries. Bring to a boil and simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously. Remove the jam from the heat, stir in the finely chopped basil and freshly ground pepper. Remove the jars from the water, dry them, and fill them using a jam funnel. Seal and turn upside down for about 20 minutes. A delicious, fruity jam with a hint of basil and a slight spiciness.
