Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 slices of pork belly
  • 1 egg(s)
  • some flour
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper from the mill
  • 1 tbsp clarified butter for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

simple, tasty and inexpensive

Trim the rind from the meat. It won’t soften during frying. Flatten the meat slightly. I cut the slices in half so they fit better in my pan. Season with salt and pepper on both sides. Beat the egg in a plate. Coat the belly slices first in flour, then dip them in the egg and then in breadcrumbs. Press the breadcrumbs down slightly. Heat the clarified butter in a pan and fry the schnitzels on both sides until golden brown at a moderate temperature. This goes well with potatoes and any kind of vegetables.
