Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 3 large bell peppers, yellow
- 500 g sausage meat (bratwurst meat or Türinger Mett)
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 can of tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tsp herbs de Provence
- salt and pepper
- 2 shallots
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes
Cut the tops off the peppers. Deseed, remove the membranes, and wash them. Fill the peppers with the sausage meat or ground beef and replace the lids (secure with toothpicks if necessary). Sauté the shallots in a little olive oil until translucent. Add the tomato paste and fry briefly. Add the chopped tomatoes and herbs and season with salt and pepper. Pour the tomato sauce into a large pan and place the peppers side by side. Cover and simmer for about 20 minutes.
