Stuffed toast from the pan

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 16 slices of toast
  • 8 slices of Parma ham
  • 200g mozzarella
  • 100 ml milk
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ bunch basil
  • Salt and pepper, black
  • Oregano, dried
  • some flour

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Remove the crust from the toast. Slice the mozzarella. Wash the basil, shake it dry, and finely chop it. Pour the milk into a deep plate. Beat the eggs in a deep plate, season with salt, pepper, and oregano, and stir in the basil. Fill 2 slices of toast with mozzarella, seasoned with pepper, and 2 slices of Parma ham each. Press the filled toast together firmly and toss in the milk. Dust all over with a little oil and place on the plate with the beaten eggs. Let stand for 15 minutes, turning once halfway through. Melt a little butter in a pan and fry the toast on both sides over medium heat until golden brown. Arrange 2 filled toasts per person on plates and garnish with basil leaves. A delicious salad goes very well with this dish.
