Stuffed walnut hearts

Ingredients for 45 servings:

  • 100 g walnuts, ground
  • 250 g flour
  • 125 g brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 125 g butter, soft or margarine
  • Plum jam
  • Chocolate coating, whole milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 2 hours

Knead the ingredients into a smooth dough. Cover and cool in foil. Preheat oven to 200°C (fan oven: 180°C). Roll out dough to a thickness of 3 mm and cut out hearts. Place on baking sheets lined with baking paper. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Allow cookies to cool. Gently warm the plum jam and stir until smooth (add a little rum if desired). Place two cookies together. Melt the chocolate coating in a bain-marie and dip each cookie halfway into it. Allow to dry on baking paper or greaseproof paper.
