Summery apple and melon smoothie

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 200 ml apple juice
  • 400 g melon(s) (watermelon)
  • 1 lime(s), juice and zest
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 7 minutes; Total time approx. 7 minutes

Cut the watermelon into pieces and freeze (alternatively, use fresh melon and serve with plenty of crushed ice). You can also prepare this a few days in advance, but the longer it freezes, the more the melon loses its flavor. Put the frozen melon and apple juice in a blender. Grate in the lime zest or use a zester to remove the zest. Squeeze the lime and add the juice to the blender. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar and blend until all the pieces are chopped up. Pour the finished drink into 2 glasses with 1 tablespoon of sugar each, stir well, and enjoy. Instead of limes, you can also use fresh lemon balm! Fruity, refreshing and not too sweet, perfect for hot days.
