Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 200 g margarine, soft
- 175 g sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- ½ bottle of rum flavoring
- 1 pinch of salt
- 4 eggs
- 140 g wheat flour
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 100 g chocolate shavings
- 100 g almonds, ground
- 1 jar sour cherries (drained weight 370 g)
- possibly grease for the mold
- n. B. Powdered sugar, sifted
- n. B. Chocolate shavings
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 55 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes
Beat the margarine on high speed until smooth, gradually add the sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, and rum flavoring. Then gradually add the eggs, beating for 1 minute for each egg. Mix the flour and baking powder, sift, and gradually stir into the egg mixture. Stir in the almonds and chocolate. Line a 26cm springform pan with baking paper or grease it, pour in the batter, and spread the drained cherries on top. Bake at 180°C top/bottom heat (preheated), 160°C fan (not preheated), gas mark 2-3 (not preheated) for about 45-55 minutes. Tip: Cakes tend to be moist in the center, so you might want to leave them in the switched-off oven for a while. Then sprinkle with powdered sugar and sprinkle with chocolate shavings. Tip: Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
