Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g pork ribs
  • 5 carrots
  • 4 m.-sized potatoes
  • 1 turnip(s)
  • salt and pepper
  • Sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Boil the meat almost completely covered with water. Drain through a sieve and return the broth to the pot. Clean and peel the vegetables, including the turnip, and cut into pieces. Cook in the broth until tender. Drain some of the broth. Mash everything, season to taste, and add a little more broth if necessary. Eat the meat on the side (you can fry it briefly for an even better flavor). Serve with thick slices of dark, hearty farmhouse bread.
