Sweet and sour pork

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 800 g pork, shredded
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Soy sauce
  • cornstarch
  • n. B. onion(s), approx. 1 – 2
  • 1 bell pepper(s), green, cut into strips
  • n. B. bulb(s), approx. 3 – 4 (can)
  • Vinegar
  • Tomato ketchup
  • Pear juice (can)
  • Water

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Marinate the shredded pork in egg yolk, soy sauce, and cornstarch. This is best done in a freezer bag and refrigerated for about 30 minutes. Then coat in cornstarch and deep-fry or roast. Finely chop and sauté about 1-2 onions and green peppers. Also sauté about 3-4 pears and arrange on top of the meat along with the peppers and onions. Mix a sauce from vinegar, tomato ketchup, pear juice, and water, heat, and season to taste. Serve with the side dish. Another delicious sauce is: 2 cups of heavy cream and ½ jar of peanut butter (with chunks), seasoned with salt and pepper, and boil down.
