Sweet and sour shrimp with pineapple and soy sauce

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 12 king prawns
  • 3 shallots
  • 2 organic lemons
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 pineapple
  • 2 red chili peppers
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • salt and pepper
  • some butter
  • 9 tbsp soy sauce
  • olive oil
  • 1 bunch of parsley

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

as a starter or main course

Wash the prawns, remove their shells, devein them, and cut them into 3-4 pieces. Finely dice the shallots and garlic, deseed the chili, and cut them into thin rings. Fry the prawns with the shallots, garlic, and chili in a little olive oil. Squeeze the lemon juice over the prawns. Cut the pineapple into pieces, add it, and mix. Deglaze with soy sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and sugar, add a knob of butter, melt, and mix again. Alternatively, you can use around 20 smaller prawns and, after peeling them, fry them whole. Don’t forget to devein them! Ciabatta bread goes well as a side dish.
