theme cake, bee, bee cake, children’s birthday
Base: Make a dough from the ingredients and bake for about 20 minutes at 180°C. Allow to cool and then cut into two pieces to make two layers. Cut one layer into triangles and line a domed cake pan with them (to make it easier to remove the cake, you can line the domed cake pan with cling film beforehand). Filling: Beat the cream and vanilla sugar until stiff peaks form. Mix the quark, milk, sugar, and lemon juice into a quark mixture. Dissolve the gelatine/agartine according to the package instructions, then add 2 tablespoons of the quark mixture to the gelatine and then add the entire mixture to the quark cream (this process is important, otherwise the gelatine will clump). Fold in the fruit and cream and then fill the cream into the domed cake pan. Cut the second layer to size and place it on top of the cream to serve as a lid. Chill for 3-4 hours and then turn out onto a cake plate. Decoration: Knead the marzipan, except for two small balls (for the eyes), with cocoa powder until evenly brown. Roll out slightly less than half of the marzipan between baking paper and cut into strips. From the other half, form a large ball (the head) and two smaller balls (for the feelers). Soften the butter in the microwave and gradually stir in the powdered sugar until it becomes spreadable. Color it with yellow food coloring and spread it on the cake. Place marzipan strips on top so that alternating brown and yellow stripes appear. Use a knife or toothpick to pierce the nose and mouth into the head. Attach the two white marzipan balls to the head as eyes and add chocolate drops for pupils. Just before eating, break the spaghetti into two equal pieces (you don’t need all of the spaghetti) and stick the two marzipan balls on one end. Stick everything into the marzipan head as feelers. The head is then placed on the cake as decoration. Cut wings from wafer paper and stick them into the cake using a knife. Note: The ingredients are designed for a dome pan with a diameter of 18 cm. If you have a larger pan, adjust the ingredients accordingly!
