Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 250 ml water, warm
  • 250 ml milk
  • 100 g sugar
  • 2 bags of yeast
  • 160 g butter
  • Salt
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar or cinnamon for dusting

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Small, unusual, and crispy, a mix of Fasnetküchle, Hasenöhrl, and Kräppelchen. Makes about 30.

Knead together the flour, eggs, water, salt, and oil. Then add the yeast, milk, butter, and sugar. The dough may be a bit odd, sticky, and lumpy, but that’s okay. If you like it sweeter, you can add more sugar. And you can add a little more milk if you like. Heat the oil in the deep fryer. Then you can form the dough into small or large (as you like) “balls.” Since the dough is very sticky, simply cut off a small ball at a time and place it in the deep fryer. You can decide for yourself how crispy you want them. Just experiment. Dust with cinnamon or powdered sugar. Jam or melted chocolate also works.
