Sweet Enztaler Bratwurst and Mustard Onions

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 100 g bratwurst
  • 100 g onion(s), peeled and weighed
  • 30 g mustard, sweet
  • 25 g soy sauce
  • 200 g tomato juice
  • 50 g condensed milk
  • Sunflower oil
  • Sea salt and pepper, black

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Side dish for pasta, rice, potatoes

Cut the sausage into ½ cm thick slices, quarter the onion lengthwise and cut into strips. Fry both in oil for 3-5 minutes. Meanwhile, add the tomato juice, condensed milk, soy sauce, and mustard to a blender and blend on high for one minute. Deglaze the onion and sausage mixture with the liquid. Bring the contents of the pot to a boil and cook over medium heat for 7-10 minutes, or until the desired consistency is reached. Season with salt and pepper and serve. Goes well with pasta, rice, and potatoes.
