Sweet potato fries
Peel the sweet potatoes. Then cut them lengthwise into slices about 1 cm thick. Larger potatoes should be halved crosswise first. Then cut them into strips, the usual French fries shape, about 1 cm thick. In a bowl, mix together the oil, salt, and paprika. Add the sliced sweet potatoes to the bowl and mix thoroughly with the oil and spice mix. Tip: For extra crispy fries, put the potato pieces in a freezer bag with a tablespoon of cornstarch before adding them to the bowl and mix everything together. Line a baking tray with baking paper, add the fries, and arrange them so that they are next to each other and not on top of each other. Bake at 220 degrees Celsius (200 degrees Celsius fan-assisted) for 20-25 minutes. Check regularly during the last few minutes to ensure they don’t overcook. The finished sweet potato fries can be salted again, depending on your taste, and then served with ketchup, mayonnaise, or a sour cream dip.
