Sweet Yeast Wreaths

The perfect sweet yeast wreaths recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

For painting

  • 160 ml. Milk
  • 160 ml. Water
  • 2 dice Yeast
  • 6 El. Sugar
  • 1 Tl. Salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Protein
  • 1 kg Wheat flour type 550
  • 1 Egg yolk
  • 2 El. Milk
  • Granulated sugar
  1. Heat the water, oil and milk lukewarm and transfer to a bowl. Add salt and sugar. Crumble in the yeast and wait 5 minutes.
  2. Then add the two eggs and the egg white and stir. Finally add the flour. Knead everything into a dough.
  3. Place the dough on a lightly floured work surface and cover with a kitchen towel. Let rise for about 45 minutes.
  4. Take two walnut-sized pieces out of the dough. Roll these into two strands. Connect the strands at one end and twist them together (see photo). Then shape into a wreath and press the ends together. Let it go for 15 minutes.
  5. Place the wreaths on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Whisk the egg yolk with the milk and spread it on the wreaths. Sprinkle with granulated sugar.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven, fan-assisted, 200 degrees, for approx. 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
