Sweet Yeast Braid with Vanilla

The perfect sweet yeast braid with vanilla recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • Pre-Dough:
  • 100 g Flour
  • 250 ml Milk
  • 50 g Sugar
  • 0,5 dice Yeast
  • Main dough:
  • 400 g Flour
  • 1 Pr Salt
  • 50 g Butter
  • 1 whole Vanilla pod scraped out
  • Pre-Dough
  • To spread 1 egg and some milk
  1. Make a pre-dough from 100 g flour, sugar, milk and yeast and let it start for 1 hour.
  2. Knead 2,400 g flour, salt and butter together with the pre-dough into a smooth dough and then let it rise for 60 minutes.
  3. Divide the dough into 3 pieces, roll them into strands and make a braid from them. Cover the braid and let rise for 45 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 170 °. Brush the yeast plait with egg milk and bake for 30-40 minutes
