Swiss Hörnli casserole

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 400 g pasta (horns)
  • 6 potatoes
  • 200 g bacon, diced, air-dried, possibly smoked
  • 200 g ham (toast ham), cut into strips
  • 200 g cheese, Gruyère (spicy Swiss cheese)
  • 1 bunch of chives
  • 4 eggs
  • 6 dl milk
  • some nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 4 tbsp cheese, grated (Gruyere)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Peel the potatoes, cut them into small cubes, and boil them with the pasta in plenty of salted water. Combine the pasta, potatoes, bacon, ham, chives, and cheese and pour into a casserole dish. For the topping, mix the ingredients and pour over the pasta. Sprinkle the casserole with breadcrumbs and grated cheese and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) on the lowest rack for 35 minutes.
