Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 100 g sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 dashes sesame oil, toasted, or nut oil

Instructions

or also called tahini, sesame paste for homemade use

Toast the sesame seeds in a dry pan. Be careful not to burn them! In a mortar and pestle, grind them into a paste with salt. Add enough olive oil to form a smooth, spreadable paste. Flavor with a little lemon juice and toasted sesame oil and transfer to a sterile screw-top jar. The sesame paste will keep for several months in the refrigerator. However, be sure to always use a clean spoon to scoop out your tahini sesame paste.
