Tandoori chicken

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 chicken, cut up
  • 3 tbsp fruit vinegar
  • Salt
  • 250 g yogurt
  • 1 tsp ginger, freshly grated
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 1 pinch of chili powder
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp coriander
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 pinch of turmeric
  • ½ tsp nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 12 hours 50 minutes

Skin the chicken pieces, then cut them into 1/2 cm deep strips with a knife, season with salt, and rub with fruit vinegar. Mix the spices with the crushed garlic, ginger, and yogurt. Marinate the chicken pieces overnight. Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place the chicken pieces on top and brush with the yogurt seasoning mixture. Place in a preheated oven at 250°C (top/bottom heat). Brush on the seasoning repeatedly to create a layer around the meat. After 30 minutes, the chicken is cooked and the yogurt cream is used up.
