Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 160 g onion(s), red
  • 20 g butter
  • 80 g bacon
  • 100 g Gouda, aged
  • 100 g sour cream
  • 8 slices of sandwich toast
  • bunch of chives, optional

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Preheat the oven to 200°C (top heat) or use a sandwich maker. Peel the onions and thinly slice them. Sauté them in a pan with butter over low heat for 5 minutes and add a little salt. Finely chop the bacon and chives. Spread four slices of sandwich bread each with sour cream. Top with the onions and bacon, then top with the cheese, then place the remaining slices on top. Place all slices on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake in the oven on the middle rack or in the sandwich maker for 5 minutes. Then sprinkle with chives and pepper.
