Tender Vegetables Made from Leftover Jaroma Cabbage
The perfect tender vegetables made from leftover jaroma cabbage recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 Jaroma cabbage heart
- 20 g Clarified butter
- 1 Onion
- 4 Bacon slices
- 2 tablespoon Water / broth
- 2 Pinches Black pepper from the mill
- 2 Pinches Salt
- 2 Pinches Red chilli flakes
- First of all: If you need cabbage leaves for roulades, there is always a leftover head of cabbage. It can be used in a stew or made into a quick vegetable. Today I seared my Jaromakohl heart and then cooked it. It tasted delicious !!
- Preparation: first cut the cabbage into large cubes, dice the onion and cut the bacon slices into strips.
- Heat the clarified butter in a saucepan and “fry” the cut cabbage in it … it can get a brown color, because this gives it a flavor-intensive aroma. When the cabbage is appetizingly browned, add the bacon strips, onion cubes and spices and continue to sizzle, turning frequently, until the onions begin to brown.
- Now add a small shot of water or broth and let the cabbage stew covered for a few minutes, until it is soft but still has a bit of “bite”.
