The best peanut sauce

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 limes
  • 1 piece(s) ginger, 2 – 3 cm
  • 1 tbsp five-spice powder
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 50 ml oil, e.g. rapeseed oil or sunflower oil
  • 50 ml soy sauce
  • 350 ml coconut milk, unsweetened
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter, creamy

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 35 minutes

In a sealable container, combine the zest and juice of both limes, finely chopped, grated, or crushed ginger and garlic. Then add the five-spice powder and chili flakes, followed by the honey, oil, and soy sauce. Close the container and shake well, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Pour the mixture into a saucepan and heat. Then add the coconut milk and peanut butter. Bring everything to a boil briefly, then simmer on low heat for 5 to 10 minutes. The sauce goes well with almost all Asian dishes; I think you should experiment and try it with other dishes, too.
