Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour (type 405 or 1050)
  • 2 eggs
  • 500 g quark (20 or 40%)
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 1 tsp, heaped salt
  • 150 g hazelnuts, whole kernels
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp water
  • some fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Knead the flour, eggs, quark, baking powder, and salt into a smooth dough. Then mix in the hazelnuts. Grease a loaf pan and pour the dough into it. Score the top of the bread crosswise with a knife. Whisk the egg yolk with two tablespoons of water and brush the bread with it. Bake in the oven at 200°C on the middle rack for 60-70 minutes. The bread tastes especially good simply brushed with butter.
