Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat
  • 1 onion(s), halved
  • 2 cloves garlic to taste
  • 15 g olive oil
  • 1 carrot(s), cut into large pieces
  • 50 g Celery, can also be omitted
  • 2 tomatoes, cut into pieces
  • 1 can of tomatoes, chopped
  • 50 g tomato paste
  • 70 g red wine
  • 1 cube of meat broth, instant
  • 1 ½ tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp thyme

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Place the onion, garlic, carrot and celery in the Thermomix and chop for 8 seconds/speed 5, scrape down the sides of the bowl with the spatula and then cook for a further 5 seconds/speed 5. Add the olive oil and sauté for 2 minutes/Varoma. Add a small amount of the minced meat and set the Varoma to the gentle stirring setting for 5 minutes. Gradually add the rest of the minced meat through the opening in the lid. By adding it gradually, the minced meat does not crumble completely and remains slightly chunky. Add the fresh, finely chopped tomatoes and set the Varoma to the gentle stirring setting for a further 2 minutes. Now add all the ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes at 90 degrees on the gentle stirring setting. Do not use the measuring jug, as this will reduce the sauce and allow it to absorb the flavors. If you want to avoid minor splashing, place the simmering basket over the opening in the lid so that steam can still escape.
