Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 400 g flour
  • 30 g yeast (fresh or dry)
  • 80 g sugar
  • ¼ liter of milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 50 g margarine
  • 250 g butter
  • 250 g sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 250 g almonds, sliced

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 20 minutes

Put the flour in a bowl, make a well in the middle, crumble in the yeast and make a starter dough with a teaspoon of sugar and a little lukewarm milk. Let it rise in a warm place. Then knead it with the remaining ingredients until you have a smooth dough. Roll it out on a greased baking sheet and let it rise for about 30 minutes. For the icing: Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, add the egg yolks and almond slivers and finally fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites. Spread the mixture evenly over the risen dough. Let the dough rise for another 10 minutes. Now bake the baking sheet in a preheated oven at 220°C on the middle rack for about 25 minutes.
