Tikka Masala Marinade

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 120 g yogurt, 10% fat
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 10 g ginger root
  • ½ tsp chili powder (Kashmiri chili powder)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika powder
  • ½ tsp caraway seeds
  • ¼ tsp adiowan (caraway seeds)
  • ½ tsp long pepper
  • 1 tsp black cumin
  • 2 tsp peanut oil or similar

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest period approx. 10 days; Total time approx. 10 days 10 minutes

Roast all the whole spices in oil for about 20 seconds. When they crack, they’re almost done. Finely chop the garlic and ginger and grind them together with the spices and oil in a mortar and pestle until finely ground. Add the chili powder and stir everything into the yogurt. Let the meat marinate overnight. If desired, prepare it in a classic way like tikka masala afterward.
