Tipsy Christmas Cake
The perfect tipsy christmas cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 125 g Soft butter
- 150 g Sugar
- 4 piece Eggs
- 350 g Flour
- 1 packet Baking powder
- 2 tbsp Amaretto
- 2 tbsp Cointreau
- 60 g Unsweetened cocoa
- 1 tsp Ground cloves
- 1 tsp Ground ginger
- 1 tsp Ground star anise
- 1 tsp Freshly grated nutmeg
- 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 100 g Chopped almonds
- 0,25 liter Milk
- Mix the butter, sugar and eggs until frothy.
- Add the flour, baking powder, cocoa, milk, the ground spices and the liqueurs and stir everything into a smooth dough.
- Finally fold in the chopped almonds.
- Fill the dough into a Gugelhupf pan and bake at 175 degrees for about 60 minutes.
- Let the cake cool down and dust with powdered sugar. Good Appetite.
- This is an old recipe from my loved ones. Adding the liqueurs and freshly grating the nutmeg is an idea of mine. Try the cake, it tastes delicious.
