Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 9 slices of toast
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp cream
  • 100 g marzipan paste
  • 6 apples
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • cinnamon sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Cover the bottom of a greased or parchment-lined baking dish with slices of toast. Crack the eggs into the cream and brown sugar, then pour over the toast. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, if desired, and top with finely diced marzipan. Peel the apples, cut them into small pieces, and drizzle with lemon juice to prevent them from browning. Arrange them on the toast base and sprinkle with a little more cinnamon sugar. Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (fan oven) for about 25 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream or sour cream, if desired. Enjoy!
