a delicious snack for cold days

Preheat the oven to approximately 180°C (top/bottom heat). Peel the apples and cut each into approximately 16 slices. Arrange all the apple slices on a baking sheet and sprinkle generously with sugar. If desired, you can also sprinkle them with a little cinnamon (or other spices). Place the whole thing in the oven and bake for about 10 minutes, until the sugar has dissolved and the apples are beautifully shiny. Enjoy warm. The recipe may be very simple and nothing special, but it tastes delicious. Perfect for cold days as a snack. The oven doesn’t need to be fully preheated; it can be warmed up nicely just by having it on for 5 minutes. The apples also make a good dessert with some vanilla ice cream. This makes mealy apples or apples with small spots edible again.
