Tomato cream sauce

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 can of tomatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 small onion(s) or 3 shallots
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 cup of Cremefine, Creme fraiche or cream
  • salt and pepper
  • Herbs (basil, oregano, thyme, parsley)
  • Olive oil, for sautéing

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

Finely chop the onion and garlic and sauté in oil until translucent. Then add the peeled, diced canned tomatoes (fresh, skinned tomatoes work too, of course) and simmer for 5 minutes. Then add the crème fraîche, crème fraîche, or cream and simmer for another 2 minutes. Finally, season to taste with salt, pepper, and the chopped herbs (Mediterranean herbs are best). Serve the sauce with pasta.
