The perfect tractor cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Make the bottom 2 times

  • 4 Free range eggs
  • 200 g Sugar
  • 100 g Milka chocolate
  • 100 ml Milk
  • 220 ml Oil
  • 300 g Sifted flour
  • 2 tbsp Baking cocoa
  • 1 packet Baking powder

Ganache

  • 1 packet Http://Www..De/Rezept/490450/Grundrezept-Ganache.Html
  • 330 ml Cream
  • 330 g Dark chocolate chopped into small pieces

Decoration

  • Fondant, green
  • Fondant, black
  • Fondant, red
  • Fondant, white
  • Lindt decor font white
  • Lindt decor font choco
  • Red frosting
  • 1 Rod Mikado King Choco
  • Mini smarties
  1. Melt the chocolate with the milk in a water bath, beat the sugar with the eggs for at least 5 minutes on the highest setting. Then add chocolate milk and oil and stir in briefly. Mix flour with baking cocoa and baking powder and fold in.
  2. Spread on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake at 170 ° C for approx. 20 – 30 minutes. Do not preheat the oven !!!! Since every oven ticks differently, just test the chopsticks.
  3. When the dough is ready, take it out of the oven, turn it out on a sugar-sprinkled baking paper and let it cool. Let the oven and tray cool down as well. Then all over again. If you have 2 baking trays you can of course also bake at the same time;)
  4. I chose a Claas on Google and enlarged it so that it just fits on the sheet metal. Now cut the dough according to the template. Now prepare the ganache using the recipe mentioned above, it’s simply the best recipe for it;) however I increased the amount a little and didn’t let it cool down overnight and didn’t whip it, but otherwise I used it as a guide: D
  5. Coat the first tractor thinly with ganache. Then immediately put on the 2nd tractor. Let the ganache sit a little. Now cut the upper tractor to size, e.g. round off the bonnet and tires. Then brush with ganache. If it should be a bit too hard, just short it !! Put in the microwave and it will be nice and smooth again. Now let everything harden overnight, but do not put in the refrigerator.
  6. I then covered the cake with fondant, but this was bought. To do this, knead the fondant until smooth and roll it out to the desired size. (I use Palmin soft for fingers and rolling pin, then nothing sticks) Dress the cake with it, carefully smooth it out and carefully cut off any excess. Then decorate white and chocolate with Lindt decor lettering, insert a Mikado-King stick into the bonnet as an exhaust and sprinkle Smarties around the tractor. Finished!
  7. By the way, I made cake pops from the leftovers from cutting out the tractor, the recipe follows :))
