Tramezzini with tuna paste

Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 12 slices of white bread (white loaf)
  • 12 small lettuce leaves
  • 200 g tuna, marinated in oil
  • 3 gherkins, small, chopped
  • 1 anchovy fillet(s)
  • 1 tbsp capers, drained
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Drain the tuna and puree it in a blender with gherkins, capers, anchovy fillets, and olive oil. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste. Place a lettuce leaf on each of six slices of white bread. Spread the tuna mixture generously on top, top with another lettuce leaf, and cover with another slice of bread. Press together and cut in half diagonally. Finally, wrap in foil and let it rest until ready to serve.
