Tomato-mozzarella rolls

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 rolls
  • 4 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 mozzarella
  • 2 tomatoes (vine tomatoes)
  • pepper
  • Salt
  • 2 tsp mixed Italian herbs
  • e.g. basil, fresh

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cut the rolls open and spread tomato paste on each half, then season with salt and pepper to taste (if you like, you can also season with Italian dry spices for an even more intense flavor). Slice the tomatoes and place two slices on each half of the roll. Then slice the mozzarella and place two slices on top of the tomato slices. Bake the whole thing in a preheated oven at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted. Tear the basil leaves into small pieces and use them to decorate the finished rolls.
