Tuna Recipes: 3 Delicious Ideas

Recipe: Scalloped Tuna Baguette

Tuna pizza is always delicious, but if you don’t feel like kneading dough, there’s a quick alternative that’s a bit pizza-like. We’re talking about the gratinated tuna baguette, which you can replace with toast or rolls if you like. And it’s that easy:

  1. Cut the baguette to the size you want, then slice it open.
  2. Spread the halves with any sauce or dip you have in the fridge, such as tartar sauce or tomato paste. You can also use cream cheese or sour cream.
  3. Then top the baguette with the drained canned tuna and top with whatever you like, like onions and eggs or tomatoes and peppers.
  4. Sprinkle some cheese over the baguette and add seasonings like oregano and basil or salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Bake the baguette at about 150 degrees for about 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese has melted.

Delicious tuna salad – a quick recipe

Another recipe variant with tuna is a fresh salad. This is prepared in no time at all:

  1. Wash a few lettuce leaves and any vegetables you want to add to the salad, such as cucumbers, tomatoes, or peppers.
  2. Then cut the vegetables into small pieces and put everything in a bowl with the lettuce leaves. Now add corn, olives, and onions if desired and mix everything together.
  3. Add the drained can of tuna to the salad and stir.
  4. You can use either yogurt or vinegar and oil for the dressing. One idea would be to mix a little yogurt with a dash of balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, and parsley, and the juice of half a lemon. The whole thing is then mixed with the salad and can be eaten straight away.

Noodles with tuna sauce – this is how the recipe works

Tuna also goes great with pasta, such as spaghetti. The dish looks like this:

  1. Cook the noodles according to package directions.
  2. In a pan, add some oil, such as canola oil, and sauté onions and garlic.
  3. Add some tomato paste and chopped or pureed tomatoes and bring to a boil while stirring.
  4. Then add the drained canned tuna and season the sauce with salt and pepper, marjoram, basil, and oregano.
  5. Let the whole thing simmer a little and then serve the tuna sauce together with the pasta. You can also garnish the dish with some fresh herbs and olives.
