Turkish lamb balls with garlic

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 5 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1 m.-large onion(s), peeled, quartered
  • 500 g lamb (approx. 4 leg slices without bones)
  • 1 slice(s) bread(s) (wholemeal bread), dark (from the previous day)
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 tbsp oat flakes, fine
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp thyme, dried
  • ½ tsp marjoram, shredded
  • Pepper, freshly ground
  • Salt
  • 3 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Cut the leg pieces into pieces and mince them. Then add the onions, then the garlic cloves, and finally the whole-wheat bread. Mix the mixture with the egg and oatmeal. Season well with the spices and herbs. Form small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush each ball with olive oil and grill for 12 minutes at 210°C. Turn the balls over once and grill for another 7 minutes. They are perfect as finger food, on a buffet, or with crisp salads.
