Turmeric Latte

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 cup oat milk (oat drink)
  • ½ tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 cm turmeric root, fresh
  • 1 cm ginger root, fresh
  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder
  • ½ tbsp agave syrup
  • 1 pinch(s) pepper, freshly ground
  • some chili pepper(s), fresh or dried (optional)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

First, finely grate the turmeric and ginger into a saucepan. (Caution: Fresh turmeric turns a strong yellow, so it’s best to wear gloves!) Then measure out a cup of oat milk and add it (my cups hold 250-300 ml). Add the coconut oil, cinnamon, agave syrup, and pepper. If you like it a little spicier, you can add a few slices of chili; this will provide additional warmth and stimulate the metabolism. Now heat the mixture gently over a low heat so that the spices can infuse. Stir thoroughly with a whisk occasionally. After about 5 minutes, when the mixture is hot and the coconut oil has melted, pour it through a sieve into a cup. Enjoy while it’s hot.
