Tuscan Bread Casserole

The perfect tuscan bread casserole recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 200 g Italian corn bread from the day before
  • 300 ml Milk
  • 200 g Buffalo mozzarella
  • 1 bunch Basil
  • 200 g Creme fraiche Cheese
  • 2 Eggs
  • 4 Tomatoes
  • 1 Clove of garlic
  • Black pepper from the mill
  • Salt
  • Butter
  1. Cut the bread into approx. 1 cm thick slices and drizzle with the milk. Drain the mozzarella well and cut into slices. Drain the tomatoes and cut into slices. A baking dish – or like I butter 2 small portion baking dishes.
  2. Now layer the bread, mozzarella, tomatoes and basil leaves in the baking dish like a roof tile. Beat the creme fraiche with the two eggs until smooth, finely rub in the garlic clove and then season with salt and pepper to taste very spicy. Now distribute this mixture over the casserole.
  3. Place the baking dish in the oven preheated to 200 degrees and bake there for 20 minutes. We had a lettuce with it.
