Tyrolian Nut Cake
The perfect tyrolian nut cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 300 g Butter at room temperature
- 300 g Sugar
- 7 piece Eggs
- 200 g Block chocolate
- 200 g Ground hazelnuts
- 200 g Flour
- 1 packet Baking powder
- 1 packet Vanilla sugar
- 200 g Couverture
- Preheat the oven to 175 degrees
- Separate the eggs, grate the block chocolate into small pieces.
- Beat the egg yolks with the sugar and vanilla sugar for about 1 minute until frothy. Add butter at room temperature and stir everything together.
- Stir the flour, hazelnuts, chocolate shavings and baking powder into the egg, sugar and butter mixture.
- Beat the egg whites into stiff snow and carefully fold them into the dough.
- Fill into the prepared cake tin and bake in the oven for about 1 hour. After 50 minutes, use a long needle / metal kebab skewer, etc. to check whether the cake is ready, and bake for a few more minutes if necessary.
- When the cake is ready, remove it from the mold and let it cool on a wire rack.
- Melt the couverture in a water bath and brush the cake with it.
