Ukrainian currant vodka

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg currants, black or red
  • 500 ml vodka
  • 250 g sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Horilka

Clean and wash the currants, then mix them with the sugar. Divide the mixture between two or more sterilized jars (preferably 1-liter jars) and fill each with vodka. Then, tightly seal the jars and let them steep for a month. The vodka will then keep for about a year. This recipe is ideal for using up excess berries. Other berries can also be used.
