Utilize Peppers: Ideas for the Leftover Kitchen

Peppers can be used in salads, omelets, and other dishes. Soups and stews are also good for this. However, if you want to prepare something quick, a colorful omelet with the leftover peppers is the best idea for everyday use.

Utilize paprika: ingredients for a colorful omelet

An omelet is one of the best everyday ideas when you want to use up different foods from the fridge. Not only the peppers can be used for this, but also the remains of zucchini, ham, bacon, and cheese.

  • 3 eggs
  • Leftover peppers
  • Alternative and optional: zucchini, bacon, ham, cheese
  • Herbs like dill, parsley, and chives
  • 1 tsp butter
  • Salt pepper

This is how you succeed in the pepper omelet

First, whisk the eggs in a bowl. Add some salt and pepper.

  1. Wash the peppers and any other vegetables you wish to use. Cut the peppers into cubes.
  2. Let the butter melt in the pan. Add the vegetables to the pan. Let the vegetables turn golden brown. If you have bacon or ham left, fry it along with the vegetables.
  3. Spread the beaten egg on the vegetables. Set the stove to medium-high.
  4. Add the herbs and cheese. Cover the pan with a lid. Let the egg set. Be careful not to burn the omelet.
  5. Take the dish out of the pan. Serve it with bread or a salad.
