Vanilla crescents with walnuts

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 280 g flour, smooth
  • 210 g butter
  • 70 g sugar
  • 100 g walnuts
  • powdered sugar
  • Vanilla sugar (bourbon)

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes

Mix the flour, sugar, and walnuts well. Cut the cold butter into small pieces and quickly knead everything into a dough by hand. Let it rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Cut the dough into thin rolls and then shape them into small croissants. Place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (top and bottom heat) for about 10 minutes. Caution: The croissants shouldn’t get too dark! It’s better to check beforehand whether the bottom edge is already light brown. Then they’re done. Roll them in powdered sugar mixed with bourbon vanilla sugar while they’re still hot. Makes 1 1/2 baking sheets.
