Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 4 apples
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp. clove powder
- 250 g pasta
- 500 g quark
- 200 ml milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 vanilla pod(s)
- 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 1 jar water
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes
Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. In the meantime, peel the apples and chop them into large pieces. Add about a glass of water and 2 tablespoons of sugar to the pan. Season with a little cinnamon and a pinch of clove powder. Cook for about 10 minutes, until the pieces are soft. In a large bowl, combine the quark, milk, eggs, and a little sugar, if desired. Split the vanilla pod and scrape out the seeds. Season the quark mixture with the seeds and vanilla essence. Drain the almost cooked pasta and mix it with the quark mixture. Grease a baking dish with the oil. Drain the apples, reserving the cooking water, and spread them on the bottom of the baking dish. Spread the quark mixture over the top. Mix the breadcrumbs with the vanilla sugar and sprinkle over the casserole. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (convection oven) for about 25-30 minutes. Serve with cinnamon and sugar or vanilla sauce and, if desired, the apple juice. Tips: Adjust the amount of sugar depending on how sweet you like it. 200 ml of milk gives the casserole a firm consistency; if you prefer a softer consistency, use 300 ml.
