Vanilla sauce with real vanilla

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 ml cream
  • 500 ml milk
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp cornstarch

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Delicious hot or cold with sweet dishes and desserts!

Separate the eggs and scrape the seeds from the vanilla pod. Bring the cream, milk, and vanilla seeds to a boil in a saucepan. Combine the sugar, egg yolk, and cornstarch and carefully stir into the boiling cream mixture. Bring to a boil once, then strain through a sieve.
