Vegetarian Meatballs According to Papa

The perfect vegetarian meatballs according to papa recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

(10 – 12 pieces)

  • 1 kg Potato and celery mash / here: the rest of yesterday! *)
  • 1 Onion approx. 150 g
  • 35 Spring onions
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Mild curry powder
  • 0,5 tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 Cup Olive oil
  • Breadcrumbs (here: Golden Breadcrumbs)
  1. Put all ingredients (potato and celery mash, onion cubes, spring onion rings, egg, curry powder, chili powder and salt) in a bowl and mix well. Shape meatballs, roll in breadcrumbs and fry in a pan with olive oil (1 cup) on both sides until golden-brown. Be very careful when turning the meatballs, otherwise they could fall apart!

*) Kartoffel-Sellerie-Stampf:

  1. Peel and dice 1 / 2 amount of potato + 1/2 amount of celery, cook in salted water (1 teaspoon) for about 25 minutes, drain and mash with cream or double cream.
